Go buy a Christmas tree - ideally one which is wrapped in a compacting-net.
1. The Tree
The desk needs a hole… So it may not be the best idea to destroy the original desk of the co-worker. Search for an old, no longer used desk panel and replace the original one. Then the fun part: Take a jigsaw and cut a hole into the table (it’s easier when you drill some smaller holes first).
2. The Desk
Stuff the tree through the hole in the table, cut open the net and pull the branches through the desk.
3. Planting
Let it shine! Lights & Christmas ball ornaments & decoration…
